School District No. 59 (PRS) has a need for substitute teachers at all levels in the
Dawson Creek, Tumbler Ridge and Chetwynd areas. Successful applicants
should note that this work is on an on-call basis and is not full-time employment.

Qualifications:
- Valid BC Teachers Certificate or certification in another Canadian jurisdiction
- Member of the Ministry of Education Teacher Certification Branch or in the process of gaining membership
- Successful and continued clear criminal record review as carried out through the Ministry of Education Teacher regulation Branch
- Solid understanding and knowledge of the British Columbia curriculum.

This position is for school-based Secondary Counsellor at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School (.7 FTE)

The focus of the counselling work will be in assessing and developing interventions and plans for students in the areas of behaviour, social-emotional well-being and self-determination. These interventions may be delivered individually, in small groups or in the classroom setting. The candidate will also provide direction and support to district intervention workers.
At the secondary level, the successful candidate will also support students academically. The candidate needs to be familiar, or become familiar with the British Columbia Graduation program and MyEducationBC. Some classroom teaching may be required.
The successful applicant will possess, or be willing to complete, a Master's Degree in Counselling. The successful candidate will be a member of the District Learning Services team and will be required to attend district meetings, participate in-service and may be required to travel to other communities.
