Effective September 1, 2023.
This position is for a school-based Secondary Counsellor at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School. This position includes three teaching blocks of Careers 7-10.
The focus of the counselling work will be in assessing and developing interventions and plans for students in the areas of behaviors, social/emotional well-being and self-determination. These interventions may be delivered individually, in small groups or in the classroom setting. The candidate will also provide direction and support to district intervention workers.
At the secondary level, the successful applicant will also support students academically. The candidate needs to be be familiar, or become familiar with the British Columbia Graduation program and My Education BC. Classroom teaching will be required.
The successful applicant will possess, or be willing to complete, a Master's Degree in Counselling. The successful applicant will be a member of the District Learning Services team and will be required to attend district meetings, participate in-service and may be required to travel to other communities.
